Hiking on the Arlberg
Heading up to the peaks from St. Anton
Between St. Anton at 1,300 metres and the peak of the Arlberg high above lies an extraordinary natural paradise and almost 1,500 vertical metres of different vegetation zones. Beautiful paths lead from the dense forests of the Stanzertal valley up to where the horizons expand and the sky draws near. On the way you'll find crystal-clear mountain lakes, fast-flowing streams and charming Alpine meadows enticing you to take a few moments to rest and contemplate. It's time to do some hiking on the Arlberg.
Good for the spirit, body and soul: step by step your tension evaporates, so that by the time you reach your destination, you will have regained a part of your self. The vast expanses of the Arlberg's natural landscapes are largely responsible for this recuperative process.
Comfortable tours and walking trails
Perhaps you would prefer a comfortable tour that's not too strenuous? Our reception team or your hosts will be happy to point you in the right direction. Take the Alprosenweg to Rendl. Alternatively, a pleasant walk around St. Anton is the perfect way to get to know your holiday destination, and plenty of other touring options are also available. The mountain railways also offer a convenient way to cover some of the distance.
Up to the mountaintops
Of course, the Arlberg also offers longer tours and exhilarating peaks to conquer. Your hosts, the Schenner family, will be happy to provide maps and advice for some delightful tours. We will also be happy to recommend a trained mountain guide for your expedition to the top of the world.
Hospitable huts – your well-earned rest on the Arlberg
We will be happy to prepare a packed lunch (charges apply) for your hiking expedition in St. Anton. However, a visit to the huts near St. Anton and elsewhere on the Arlberg is well worthwhile. Many of these were originally actual Alpine farm huts – and some of them still are. Take a seat on the shady terrace, enjoy the view, and enjoy the anticipation of a hearty traditional cold meat platter, a delicious baked treat with coffee or some good Tyrolean cooking.
St. Anton's mountain railways and hiking buses
Naturally you plan on discovering every aspect of the Arlberg, and you don't want to set out from St. Anton every day. The system of summer mountain railways and buses will serve you in good stead. With your summer card (supplied free when you stay at the Sporthotel) you can use all the mountain railways for one day and the hiking buses throughout your stay, free of charge. The premium card, available at an extra cost, provides unlimited free access to the mountain railways.
You can look forward to an impressive mountain landscape and many wonders just waiting to be discovered when you go hiking on the Arlberg. We are looking forward to your obligation-free enquiry, and will be happy to send you a tailored offer in reply.
